Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deputy Financial Controller who is experienced in Capital to join our finance team. The Deputy Financial Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of capital accounting, Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and transactional functions.
Qualifications and Education:
- You must be CCAB Qualified, Education to degree level and IT Literate - Spreadsheets, database, pivot tables, ECDL or equivalent
Experience:

Five years of working in a financial environment with at least 3 years of financial and capital accounts experience in an NHS environment

Experience of working with spreadsheets, word, databases, working with large complex data volumes on spreadsheets

Managing staff and effective team working
-
Experience of reporting on PFI schemes and Finance Leases in an NHS environment is desirable but willingness to learn is also being considered

It is desirable to have an advanced knowledge of NHS Accounting Policies and procedures as recognised with UK IFRS

Knowledge of NHS funding and regulation (NHSE, ICB, Local Authority).

Knowledge of financial coding and ledger and sub-ledger management

Knowledge of financial controls and experience of maintaining these

Up to date knowledge of NHS, organisational challenges and development
