Your day could begin by reviewing rent accounts and contacting tenants with outstanding arrears to discuss repayment options and provide support. Then, you might attend a meeting with the Financial Inclusion team to ensure that vulnerable tenants are receiving the right benefits and support. Later, you may find yourself preparing legal paperwork for court proceedings, ensuring compliance with Peabody’s policies while working to prevent evictions.
As a Collections Officer, you’ll be managing rent arrears and supporting tenants in maintaining their tenancies. No two days are the same, as you’ll play a key role in maximising rent collection and providing essential customer service. Your focus will be on early intervention to prevent arrears from escalating, and you’ll work closely with vulnerable tenants, providing them with advice and support to manage their rent and avoid eviction. You will also collaborate with other teams, including the Financial Inclusion team, to ensure tenants receive holistic support.
You’re someone who thrives on helping people and getting things done. You’ll enjoy collaborating with various teams across Peabody and have a talent for building meaningful relationships with colleagues and tenants. You will be required to work from the office for a few days each week, with flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the time. In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of tenant accounts, balancing rent collection with offering vital support to tenants, always striving to improve Peabody’s services and tenant satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of tasks, from managing rent arrears to supporting tenants in accessing welfare benefits and services. You’ll also be responsible for preparing and managing legal processes, ensuring that Peabody’s policies are followed to maintain tenancy sustainability.
