Internal Communications & Engagement Manager
Location: Hybrid role with 3 days in London Head Office
Reporting to: Head of Learning and Development
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Overview
Working with the People Director and Head of Learning and Development to place internal communications at the heart of colleague engagement. Owning the execution of the communication strategy across all our global sites, including Retail Stores, Head Office functions, and Distribution Centres. Bringing our colleagues together through informed and engaging communication and activities that positively impact their engagement, including keeping the business strategy alive through regular communication and updates with our colleagues.
You will develop and execute the annual plan for colleague communications by audience, delivering engaging and timely communications. Showcasing innovative thinking and creativity, utilizing social media platforms to drive increased engagement across multiple channels.
Creating strong relationships with varied business stakeholders across all levels, including the Senior Leadership Team and wider business experts, you will drive advocacy from within, championing our communications and engagement approach.
In this role, you would be empowered to make it happen by supporting communications on projects such as D&I, Charity, Engagement Surveys, and Well-being. You will be the main lead on other communication and engagement initiatives, helping to shape our colleague experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and implementing the global internal communications plan to inspire, inform, and engage our colleagues.
- Reviewing and developing processes and communication channels, using innovative and creative approaches to engage and support more effective communications across our global business, including multiple languages to support the global audience.
- Managing a Content Creator to ensure innovative assets are created for multipurpose platforms (e.g., TikTok, LMS, Store platform, Teams) with all assets showcasing the brand image.
- Working with the Executive team to create a regular cascade of key business communications, including our CEO and Founder, to create a more visible leadership message to our colleagues.
- Working closely with our Senior Leadership team to endorse an ambassador approach to communications and engagement.
- Setting the brand tone of voice for internal communications, focusing on agreeing the agenda to ensure communication is proactive rather than reactive.
- Collaborating with Marketing & PR to ensure our internal tone of voice is aligned with how we communicate externally with customers.
- Delivering the day-to-day internal communications activity with support from the people team, creating visibility of key activity across the business.
- Ensuring all communications, including policies and procedures, are consistent across the business, creating one version of the truth within our LXP communications system.
- Planning and leading the Social Committee for the smooth running of annual company events (e.g., Head Office Summer Party, Retail Conference).
- Working with the Retail Operations team to create the framework for specific store communications, including messaging, frequency, tools, and creative content.
- Working with L&D to create a learning and communication ‘in one flow’ approach, upskilling colleagues’ understanding of their roles and the business to support the customer experience.
We’d love to meet someone with
- Retail communication experience (4 years+)
- Experience of leading an engagement survey across multi-site & multi-brand business
- Strong content creation experience
- Understanding of multi-platform approach
- Strong copywriting & editorial skills
- Experience in managing multiple stakeholders
- Understanding of brand and experience in consistently maintaining brand messaging
- Creative thinker
- Proven experience in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work in an agile environment
