Job Summary:
We are currently representing a role on behalf of our client based in the East Yorkshire region who have rapidly grown in recent years and have exciting plans to continue their growth and this role is the opportunity to lead the Purchasing function.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the planning, logistics, finance, commercial and production functions to drive reductions in cost across the entire business, bringing innovative ideas and a fresh approach. They will have the ability to successfully negotiate prices and contracts and to build a reliable and sustainable supplier base in a fast-moving environment.
Main Duties:

Negotiate overall best terms ensuring that the supply base and product meet the required business objectives.

Overall responsibility for ensuring the business has a supply of ingredients and packaging within the targeted levels set for the business.

Manage, challenge suppliers on their performance based on value for money, quality and delivery service level.

Source new suppliers in line with the business sourcing and sustainability strategy.

Identify and develop relationships with new and existing suppliers.

Analyse market trends and conduct cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
Person Specification:

Strong negotiation, communication, influencing, and relationship building skills.

Knowledge of procurement processes and experience within categories, contract law and commodity or base raw material tracking methods.

Ideally CIPS experience
