Job Title: Field-Based Business Development Manager – Commercial Energy

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Field-Based Business Development Manager to join our clients growing team in the commercial energy sector. This role is responsible for driving new business and developing long-term partnerships with commercial clients. You will have a strong understanding of the energy market, exceptional sales skills, and a passion for helping businesses optimise their energy usage and costs.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation: Identify and prospect new commercial clients through field-based activities, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at target companies. Serve as the primary point of contact for all business energy-related inquiries.

Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a territory-specific sales strategy, focusing on generating new business opportunities and expanding market presence.

Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to offer tailored energy solutions and value propositions.

Proposal Development: Create and present tailored energy solutions, including pricing models, contracts, and service offerings to meet the unique needs of each client.

Negotiation and Closing: Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to contract negotiation and closure, ensuring profitability and alignment with business goals.

Account Management: After securing contracts, work closely with account management and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing client satisfaction.

Reporting: Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to senior management.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of services and client satisfaction.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
Key Skills and Experience:

Proven track record of success in B2B sales within the energy or utilities sector.

Strong understanding of the commercial energy market, including renewable energy options, energy procurement, and regulatory frameworks.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and manage a territory with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated ability to close deals and meet or exceed sales targets.

Experience with CRM tools and sales reporting.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in a relevant industry.
