My client is looking for an experienced bookkeeper with excellent accounting and VAT knowledge. You must have attention to detail, an analytical mind and the ability to complete work to a high professional standard and a positive mindset. You will also be required to manage a small team so experience in management as a bookkeper would be advantageous.
Education & Qualifications for Bookkeeper

AAT Level 3 or level 4 completed

5 years experience in an accounting and bookkeeping role

Good GCSE and/or A-Level results
Main Duties & Responsibilities of Bookkeeper

Managing a team of 4 (onsite and offsite) - Reviewing their bookkeeping work, workflow and setting targets to meet monthly deadlines.

Managing a portfolio of over 100 clients covering a wide range of industries including property, IT, construction, professional services and e-commerce.

Assist clients and colleagues with bookkeeping and VAT including setting up and training on Xero, QuickBooks and Dext.

Preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and budgets to send to clients and follow up with meetings to discuss and assist company directors with making business and personal tax decisions.

Preparing and submission of VAT returns and ensuring all clients are MTD compliant.

Having knowledge and experience to identify complex accounting and VAT transactions

Working with the associates to carry out balance sheet reconciliations and accounts preparation to Extended Trial Balance stage.

Prepare monthly budgeting and forecast analysis for the department for review with the department partner.

Implementing new processes and software with the department partner and rolling out to the rest of the team.
