Science Teacher for SEMH School – West Drayton (Uxbridge)
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team at a school in West Drayton that caters to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to start ASAP. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support and understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapted to the individual needs of SEMH students.
Develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate students with diverse learning abilities and emotional needs.
Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages positive behaviour and academic progress.
Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCO, and other specialists to meet students' individual education plans (IEPs).
Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and reports to parents, carers, and senior leadership.
Foster resilience, self-esteem, and a love for learning in students who have faced significant challenges.
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong subject knowledge in Science.
However, unqualified teachers with relevant experience
Experience working with students with SEMH, SEN, or other additional needs is desirable but not essential.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students who may present challenging behaviour.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
