We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager or Sales Director who can lead our sales team, drive business growth, and excel in a sales environment that often resembles bid writing more than traditional sales.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the social housing sector, driving revenue growth and expanding market share.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve targets, while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key social housing clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the social housing sector, expanding the company’s client base.
- Bid Writing: Collaborate on or lead the preparation of bids and tenders for social housing projects, ensuring competitive and compelling submissions.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, particularly in social housing, to inform sales strategies and identify opportunities.
- Sales Forecasting: Prepare sales forecasts, set realistic targets, and manage budgets to ensure profitability and alignment with business goals.
- Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s product offerings, particularly in relation to social housing requirements, and advise clients on the best solutions.
- Reporting: Provide regular sales reports and updates to senior management, ensuring transparency and strategic alignment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Sales Manager or Sales Director role within the fenestration industry, preferably with experience in PVC-U windows, doors, and conservatories.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a client-focused approach tailored to the needs of social housing clients.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to drive business growth and achieve targets, particularly in a bid-driven sales environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the PVC-U product market and the ability to stay ahead of industry trends, especially within the social housing sector.
