Purpose of the Role - Process Design Engineer: As a Process Design Engineer, you will be a vital part of the Engineering Design Team, playing a key role in delivering innovative, high-quality design solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will collaborate closely with Design Managers and Leads to ensure all designs meet the highest standards of technical compliance, procedural governance, and safety regulations. Your expertise will help drive the success of critical infrastructure projects, contributing to a sustainable future.
Key Accountabilities - Process Design Engineer:
Technical Excellence: Deliver technically compliant and high-quality design outputs that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Innovation and Efficiency: Collaborate with project teams to develop designs that balance cost efficiency and operational effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure full compliance with governance procedures and health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide graduate and assistant engineers, supporting their professional development.
Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients and supply chain partners to develop optimal process solutions, providing technical calculations and documentation. Competency Requirements - Process Design Engineer:
Client Engagement: Strong ability to liaise with clients and supply chain partners, developing and refining process solutions.
Technical Expertise: Expertise in performing process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic calculations, and developing technical documentation like Process Block Diagrams, PFDs, and P&IDs.
Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Process Design Engineer:
Educational Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Industry Experience: Over 4 years of experience in the water and wastewater sectors, with a solid background in process design.
Professional Accreditation: Chartered status or membership with a relevant professional engineering body is advantageous.
