Purpose of role:
This is a rare opening for an In-House Security Management role working within a Coprorate site in London. You will be managing a team of Security Team leaders, Controllers and security personnel delivering a high level of service across the estate.
Ensuring that all operational requirements and duty tasks are met and auctioned, the post holder is also responsible for the day-to-day contract management of the appointed 3rd party service partner(s) responsible for providing resourcing for ad-hoc support and event security needs estate-wide during the year. The post holder will review and continually audit service delivery to ensure that all SLA’s are met, local security policies, procedures and any security equipment or systems remain fit for purpose and that local stakeholders are engaged with and remain involved in the development of the service.
Key Responsibilities:
To manage, lead and develop all direct reports, ensuring that; training objectives and SIA licensing requirements are met, staff are familiar and compliant with current policies and local security instructions and that all staff have a personal development plan in place.
To assist the Head of Security in the development and maintenance of SLA standards and local security instructions for the Corporate Head Office complex, ensuring that the service remains 100% compliant at all times.
To manage resourcing within budget targets set by the Head of Security for rostering, holiday and training booking for all reports ensuring that there is sufficient site cover available at all times to meet service needs.
To proactively manage staff sickness and other absences, ensuring that relevant policy and processes are complied with; undertaking return to work interviews and where absence triggers have been reached, ensuring that the appropriate remedial action is undertaken with the individuals concerned.
To ensure that all staff receive the correct uniform and equipment for their role and that it is maintained in a clean and fit for use condition at all times. Security staff are expected to maintain a high level of personal presentation and deportment at all times, daily management checks are to be undertaken to ensure these standards are met.
Responsible and accountable for first line contract management activities including; SLA scoring, contract administration, raising of work orders and QA monitoring of the delivery of outsourced services ensuring compliance with KPI’s. The role demands engagement with a range of stakeholders and will require the post holder to maintain an effective internal and external network or service users.
To build and maintain an effective internal network of stakeholders and building users across the Corporate Head Office complex, responding and maintaining lines of timely communication on matters relating to security and the prevention of crime.
Working as part of the security management team, the post holder may be called upon to provide the lead response to security related or any emergency incidents that may occur across the corporate estate.
Provide on-call cover one week in three (and be available to attend site if required), in order to lead and manage the response to any emergencies in connection with the security, safety or environment of premises or occupants.
To provide support to the Head of Security and cover the duties of the Security Operations Manager during periods of absence.
To follow and complete any reasonable management instruction commensurate with the job role and within timeframes set.

Person specification
Essential Knowledge Skills:
Experience of managing security staff working within a busy public facing environment
Experience of 3rd party contract supply management, including administration, SLA scoring, ordering and QA monitoring.
Demonstrable customer service experience and stakeholder engagement
Conversant with MS Office range of software tools, specifically; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Explorer in order to send and receive emails, write reports, prepare and deliver presentations and access on-line resources
Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritise competing tasks
Ability to undertake a dynamic risk assessment and determine from a range of potential options the correct course of action to take during an incident response
Strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively engage with staff, stakeholders and senior management.
High standard of written and oral communication to convey and report on operational and service issues, including; experience in preparing and delivering reports to senior management both in writing and oral presentation
Experience of leading security team response to security related incidents and building emergencies
The ability to respond and resolve customer complaints, displaying a flexible solution driven approach as appropriate
To be able to work proactively, using own initiative to identify to senior management options for consideration to resolve service issues or to implement service improvements
Ability to undertake on-call responsibility and if required, ability to undertake work during unsocial periods and times to meet the needs of the service
Knowledge and experience of current Health and Safety legislation and practice as it applies to the working environment and role of security
Adhere to the principles of Quality and Equality in the workplace

Essential qualification(s) and experience:
HSE First Aid (training can be provided)
Maybo Conflict resolution Training (training can be provided)
Holds or is working towards a Level 4 award in Supervisory Management (training can be supported)
