Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Projects to lead our project management team. This role involves overseeing the delivery of client-funded projects, managing a team of project managers, project engineers and handling your own projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers and engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of client-funded projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
Client Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal client management team and clients on project-related matters.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure client satisfaction and manage client expectations.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development of project management strategies and methodologies.
- Align project management practices with organisational goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Resource Management:
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success.
- Manage project budgets and financials.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure resource availability and allocation.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in project management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experiencing managing technology deployments, often from client sites
- PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Must have:
- Proven experience in managing client-funded projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
