Job Title: Device Support Technician
Location: Moorgreen Hospital, Southampton SO30 3JB
Trust: Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Pay Rate: £15.67/Hr.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, totalling 37.5 working hours per week.
Shift Patterns:

The first 2 months based 90% of the time at Moorgreen Hospital in Southampton, thereafter it will be 50% of time at Moorgreen and 50% of the time travelling to sites at Lymington, Fareham, Gosport, and Basingstoke.

Generous mileage allowance is provided when travelling to hospital sites and travel time is included as part of your working day.

When you are not required to be on site you can work from home.
JOB SUMMARY:
This is a dual role, supporting with the IT elements of delivering digital projects within Programme Delivery and providing support to the BAU Device Support Team as per the business need. This role involves coordinating IT assets, troubleshooting issues, training/supporting end-users, and ensuring secure and efficient IT operations. The specialist will work independently and collaboratively to meet project goals and provide ongoing technical assistance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must-have ability to provide specialist knowledge and advice within department and other organisations regarding technical environment and web and networking solutions.

Coordinate the deployment of IT hardware and software for digital projects.

Provide on-site and remote technical support for laptops, PCs, smartphones, tablets, and printers.

Manage and track IT assets throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues.

Liaise with other technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Train and support end-users on new equipment, software, and systems.

Maintain IT security standards and escalate any breaches of security policies.

Document all activities according to IT procedures and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Proficient in Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products.

Expert knowledge in VPN Technology, WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, remote and mobile access.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.

Experience in managing and supporting IT devices in a structured and logical manner.

Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple sites as needed.

Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience (minimum 3 years).

Microsoft and other professional certifications (or equivalent proven experience) are essential.

ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) qualifications/certification is desirable.
