Booth Welsh have a fantastic opportunity available within our Compliance department and are looking to add on an Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Advisor to the team.
The role demands a well-rounded individual with good compliance experience, particularly around health & safety, international ISO standards, and sustainability. The role would suit someone who has strong attention to detail and is capable of driving compliance initiatives forward to ensure that Booth Welsh remains at the forefront of best practice in health, safety, quality, and environmental management.
Role requirements:
Strong understanding of ISO standards, particularly ISO 9001 (Quality Management). It would be beneficial but not critical to also have knowledge and experience of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management).
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to health & safety, environmental protection, and sustainability that are relevant to the work Booth Welsh undertakes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to draft reports, policies, and training materials, as well as to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong attention to detail.
Organisational skills that can adapt and flex to meet multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to deliver training sessions and presentations.
Leadership skills to oversee teams or projects and seamlessly transfer responsibility and authority in the absence of the Compliance Manager.
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, such as engineering, operations, and HR, to ensure integrated compliance efforts.
Hands-on experience with sustainability programmes and initiatives aimed at improving environmental performance.
Professional experience expectations:
3 years in a compliance-related role preferably within an engineering or industrial firm, with strong mix of experience in health & safety, quality management, environmental compliance and sustainability.
Experience in preparation, conducting and managing both internal and external audits, for ISO certifications.
Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with a proven track record of managing teams or projects related to compliance.
Experience of implementing, managing, reviewing and auditing health and safety performance in an engineering and/or construction environment.
Desirable qualifications:
Internal auditor training to ISO 9001
IOSH (or equivalent) affiliate or greater membership
IEMA affiliate or greater membership
A strong attitude that compliments or substitutes academic qualifications is welcome therefore a good suite of soft skills for example great communication skills, the ability to switch between team and individual initiatives, and confidence in leadership are all desirable qualities.
