Adecco is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client who are based in Workington. Our client is a heavy engineering company the specialises in nuclear and reactor engineering our client is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager on a permanent, full time basis.
As a Project Manager you will manage projects in the Nuclear, Defence & Industry sectors, acting as the primary client contact. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Additionally, you will support new work proposals by leading and managing the technical aspects of bids and estimates.
Key Accountability's:
Provide safety leadership and ensure projects are delivered safely with minimal environmental impact.
Serve as the principal client contact, ensuring client requirements are met and maintaining positive relationships throughout the project.
Manage internal and sub-contractor relationships, ensuring productive teamwork.
Lead planning engineers, manufacturing, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Contribute to the bid process for multi-discipline projects, providing resource and cost/time estimates.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory provisions, including CDM Regulations.
Identify risks and opportunities, actively resolving any issues affecting project delivery.
Monitor project schedules, costs, and ensure timely invoicing and change control adherence.
Provide regular project status reports to senior management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and solutions.
Oversee project closure, archiving, and completion of the lessons learned process.
Ensure the creation of quality plans and monitor internal manufacturing against approved documents.
Issue manufacturing instructions and monitor associated activities against schedule and budget.
Create Bills of Materials for effective and accurate purchasing by the procurement department.
Liaise with suppliers, evaluate offers, and ensure orders satisfy technical, safety, and commercial requirements.Qualifications/Experience:
Academic: Engineering Degree or Equivalent Practical Experience (Desirable)
Academic: APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) (Desirable)
Project Management experience with a proven track record in managing multi-discipline projects through all phases (Essential)
Proficiency in project management principles, tools, and techniques (Essential)
Understanding of planning, estimating, risk identification, management, and mitigation in multi-discipline teams (Essential)
Experience in managing related projects with proven success (Essential)
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental issues in an engineering context (Essential)
Familiarity with quality assurance requirements and procedures (Essential)
Market and commercial knowledge (Desirable)
Ability to foresee and plan to prevent performance issues (Essential)
Health and Safety: IOSH Working Safely (Essential)
Membership: Member of a relevant professional institute (Desirable)
