Overview
Assisting and supporting a highly successful team based in the UK responsible for driving revenue from UK based clients and agencies. Represent The FT amongst a portfolio of clients within the luxury sector and their media agencies, cultivating relationships with senior stakeholders of influence.
Assisting in sustaining and increasing the team's consultative profile within the UK media industry, helping the team drive revenue and exceed targets, by supporting their strategic efforts.
The Role / Position Overview
The role involves negotiating multi-platform advertising campaign agreements and building and managing credible, long term relationships with some of the FT's biggest luxury clients and their agencies.
It will include responsibility for delivering challenging content, digital and print revenue targets through creativity, use of sophisticated research and audience and platform insight. A consultative approach to selling based on an understanding of the client's brand values and their communication objectives is paramount.
A thorough understanding of the current international and domestic media landscape is expected as the role is part of a team spanning several global offices.

Sales
- Create and deliver a robust strategy for the assigned sector, in order to grow revenue y.o.y within the patch.
- Generate new business by driving the strategic direction of a defined market sector with a focus on the short, medium and long term success of the business
- Present sales pitches both in response to brief and proactively to clients and their media agencies.
- Innovation: crafting exciting solutions utilising all of the FT Group's resources to drive new revenue and ensure the FT Group stays at the forefront of the market.
- Manage all aspects of the sales and account management process including negotiating complex deals and managing high level projects
- Be seen as a trusted partner and consultant for clients' marketing and communication needs.
- Deliver outstanding customer service in the day-to-day management of clients' business.
People- Be seen as a 'Thought Leader' at the FT e.g. Take the initiative and lead with learning opportunities for the team.
- Act as an ambassador for the FT and solidify its profile within the UK luxury advertising market.
- Acts as a key representative for the luxury team internally and support with wider departmental initiatives on the team's behalf where needed
- Represent the Financial Times Group to customers (both agency and client direct) and meet with clients regularly
- Build positive working relationships across the business including: product management, research and digital insights team.
- Build collaborative relationships and effective communications with the FT Global offices to ensure integrated management of international and regional client accounts.
Required Skills / Experience- Around 5 years of media sales experience ideally within the core luxury space
- Personable, professional and with a proven track record in either a client facing or agency sales role
- Natural gravitas with the ability to operate autonomously at the highest level
- Genuine interest and passion for the luxury market
- Hungry to develop existing relationships and create new contacts so as to drive new and incremental revenue.
- An excellent communicator with professional maturity, gravitas, influencing skills and the ability to operate at the highest level.
- Accountable, highly organised, and able to manage their own time effectively.
- Able to excel individually and as part of a part team.
- Experienced in creating and executing commercial content partnerships.
