Overview:
The Warehouse Operative is a key role within the Sourcing & Production organisation. The role is responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments, including paperwork, license handling while collaborating with suppliers and authorities. The role is also responsible to maintain control of the managed stores and ensuring the smooth delivery of stock to the production line. The Warehouse Operative will report directly to the Production Planning manager and will work closely with various teams to meet production and shipping deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Process development:
Lead initiatives to enhance processes, develop key performance metrics and foster continuous improvement and cost reduction in warehouse and shipping operations.
Develop and enforce Health and Safety, and Environmental compliance standards, and provide training to staff
Lead local development of the ERP System's warehouse and shipping modules and provide training to staff
Warehouse operations:
Manage the processes for all incoming and outgoing goods at the Fareham site
Develop and manage arrival control process in collaboration with the quality department
Handle defective parts from production, manage reclaims of quarantined and/or defective goods
Ensure correct stock movements and set up relevant storage locations for picking efficiency
Inventory management
Ensure precise picking of shop orders and customer orders
Oversee stock control of direct- and indirect materials, working with the purchasing team to maintain optimal stock levels
Prepare detailed reports on shipping activities, inventory levels, and stock movement
Qualifications:
Experience in logistics and customs clearance.
Knowledge of import/export regulations and procedures.
Proven knowledge of Export Control for military items
Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
Proficient in using logistics and inventory management systems, preferably IFS.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skill
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and operate material handling equipment.
Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
