Our client is a leading supplier of fresh produce to the food industry, and are a growing and successful business. We operate a number of remote sites across the UK linked to our head office in Birmingham and have over 250 employees.
Working in a small team, the role will be responsible for the availability and performance of the groups IT systems, covering servers, switches and telecoms. The role will be responsible for problem resolution and proactive maintenance of infrastructure equipment.
Job Objectives
Work within the IT team, responding to incident and problem tickets on our helpdesk software
Deploy and distribute desktop equipment to users
Manage and maintain the Windows Server and Active Directory environments
Manage virtualisation technologies like Hyper-V and VMware
Responsible for network management including switch and wireless configuration
Maintain systems security and virus detection systems
Support users on desktop applications, including Dynamics Navision, Office 2019 and several bespoke systems
Maintain and implement documentation on systems and services
Keep up to date with technology and service developments within the industry and make recommendations where appropriate
Liaise with 3rd Party companies or contractors to resolve issues where required
Identify Improvement Points throughout the business and make recommendations
Training of staff on IT systems
Assisting the other members of the team resolve issues
Ensure policies and procedures are followed throughout the organisation and breaches are reported to your team leader
Pass on knowledge within the team

Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 administration
VMWare & Hyper-V Virtualisation Technologies
Active Directory Management and GPO administration
Microsoft Exchange 2016 administration
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 administration
Backup and DR solutions
Terminal Services administration
Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies
Telecoms administration
Networking Principles
SharePoint Administration
Server Hardware and Management including Storage Arrays

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 with weekend working

Salary £29,000-£31,0000 PA dependant on experience
Core Hours
The role is expected to be completed between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday covering 40 hours per week. Some out of hours work will be required and will be planned and notified in advanced. A weekend and evening ‘On Call’ service is provided by the department a shared on a rota amongst the team
