Bluestones Supply Chain are on the hunt for a Purchasing & Logistics Supervisor for our clients fantastic Warehouse team. The role is with a leading roofing and construction manufacturer based in the UK. A successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the logistics department is ran smoothly and tasks/functions are executed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
Line management & Supervisory
Supervision of the Logistics Assistants, providing guidance, support and development.
Monitor the Logistics & Warehouse departments' productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
Provide cover across the Logistics department during periods of sickness and absence
Logistics & warehouse department management
Oversea the day-to-day smooth running of the logistics & warehouse functions, and make decision within the responsibilities of the role
Maintain records for all systems, utilising bespoke IT programmes (Intact IQ) where needed to include billing of all sales invoices in an accurate and timely manner
Ensure transport requirements and procedures are adhered to
Flexibility to accommodate unavoidable delays regarding delivery times and collections
Support the development of the Logistics processes to include process mapping of Intact IQ processes, together with the department's customer satisfaction, efficiency and problem solving process
Assist with Stock management (UK stock)
Assist with Forecast stock requirements daily
Place orders with suppliers, maintaining existing good relationships. Raise purchase orders and book-in stock on Intact IQ on its arrival.
Advise Purchasing & Logistics Manager of products in high demand and any potential stock shortages. Allocate stock in current high demand in the most appropriate way to ensure optimum customer satisfaction
Together with the Warehouse department, lead and control regular & annual stock takes. Investigate any stock shortages, raising stock adjustments where applicable
Product quality & performance
Implement, develop and update the company’s Quality Manual, recording Declaration of Performance (DOPs), and internal quality checks for our products
Raise Non Conformance reports and follow up to a satisfactory conclusion
Health & Safety and equipment maintenance
Act as amin point of contact with external H&S provider
Maintain and file accident reports, referring to external H&S provider for guidance on preventative steps where appropriate.
Ensure plant and machinery safety checks are conducted, reporting any issues and arranging maintenance as and when necessary.
Monitor and maintain housekeeping in the department, identify, eliminate, isolate and minimise workplace hazards.
Ensure compliance of company policy regarding H&S, and training across the team.
Other duties to include:
Provide cover for the Purchasing and Logistics Manager during any periods of absence
Assist the Purchasing and Logistics Manager with customs related duties
Receive & resolve customer complaints
Monitor courier charges
Foster excellent working relationships with other departments across the company
Along with all team members, monitor and maintain housekeeping in the department, identify, eliminate, isolate and minimise workplace hazards
Comply with Company Policy regarding Health & Safety and training
Keyholder responsibilities for opening and locking of the premises, be part of the rota for the alarm system
