Job Summary
We are working with a very established company based in the Totton, Hampshire area which is looking to recruit a skilled Bookkeeper to join their friendly team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing accounts payable, and using Sage Line 50 accounting software to ensure accurate financial management.
The role is part time (12-15 hours per week), and although it will be initially office-based, it may evolve to be a work from home position after an agreed period.
Responsibilities

Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing hard copies

Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure

Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances

Completing VAT returns

Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accountant of errors

Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountants reconcile inaccuracies

Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets

Preparing employee wages

Managing employee expense claims
Requirements

Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role

Proficiency in using accounting software like Sage

Solid understanding of basic accounting principles

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
