Belmont Recruitment are currently working with Wirral Council to recruit and experienced Accounts Assistant to join the Finance and Investment Division on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Role:
You will be required to carry out a number of practical accounting skills working on gathering, checking and analysis of financial information related to a number of local authority services. You will report to a Finance Business Partner. Responsibilities The accounts assistant’s role has a broad range of responsibilities, key duties below.
Key Duties:

Producing budget and accounting information and reports including financial monitoring statements and written commentaries.

Assist in the preparation of budget monitoring papers and working papers for a service area.

Maintain salary working papers and agency monitoring papers, and other working papers such as a budget tracker and establishment working paper.

Prepare and process journals.

Monitoring financial transactions.
Requirements:

You will be AAT qualified or equivalent.
-
Good mathematical skills.
-
Excellent IT skills including advanced excel.

Ability to work with services and non – financial staff.
