Job Title: Senior Material Supplier (SMS)

Hours: 37.5 per week –
Pay rate (Inside IR35): £16.08 PAYE / £20.49 Umbrella
Full Airside pass will be required – 5 years employment/education history –DBS (£25) – GSAT (£10)
Human Factors training (online course – around £35)
The main aspect of the role will be to expedite returns from line stations within the set KPI.
Training will be provided.
A valid ID is necessary, and at least two days in the office maybe required.
The below is an indication of what the SMS roles entails.
Provide full material support to production areas including Maintrol, Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Workshops and with External Suppliers to build parts preloads for aircraft inputs.
As a Senior Material Supplier you will be responsible for the operational support and procurement of aircraft spare parts. This will include tracing and tracking of on-going shipments worldwide and expediting the delivery of parts into the shops or to other stations. Other duties will include the coordination of case-to-case logistical activities worldwide, monitoring task progress and taking the necessary action to deliver in agreed timescales/budgets, completing all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. You may be required to maintain a shift handover log for your designated area at the end of each day, and also liaise with other departments as necessary (e.g. outside agencies, airport authorities, Maintrol etc.). You will be willing to travel to support the operational support of the engineering organisation and may act up to Duty Material Supplier as requested within agreed levels of authority. The role holder may be required to work rosters which may include unsocial hours.
Wide ranging functions include facilitation of the performance management of strategic suppliers ensuring service level agreements (SLA's) are met, forward provisioning of materials to meet business needs, ensure 'loans-in' are effectively managed and also the exposure to surplus/waste is minimised. Functions include liaising with the engineering community to develop provisioning models, supporting and participating in tendering/contract development, ensuring maximum value for money in any buying decisions is achieved, delivering appropriate/timely management reporting across all areas of responsibility and progressing/expediting outstanding orders for the timely delivery of material.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
In addition to the roles of a Material Supplier :-
Operational Support
Procurement of aircraft spare parts

Forward Provisioning/Supplier Management
Performance Manage Strategic suppliers ensuring SLA are meet.
Forward provision materials to meet business needs.
Manage loans-in' are minimised and exposure to surplus and waste is minimised.
Liaising with the engineering community develop provisioning models.
Support and participate in the tendering / contract development.
Ensure maximum value for money in any buying decision.
Deliver appropriate and timely management reporting across all areas of responsibility.
Progress and expedite outstanding orders for the timely delivery of material.
What we are looking for:
Aviation background with supply chain experience, including procurement & tendering experience
Strong IT skills and knowledge of engineering systems (preferably AMOS)
Good knowledge and experience of aircraft parts buying.
Ability to work on own initiative
Demonstrate self-confidence and the ability to present at all levels across a wide engineering organization
