About the Team
Do you care about how local decisions are made and have a strong interest in local governance and democracy? We are providing a great opportunity to work in Haringey Democratic Services and Scrutiny team where you will be working with senior officers and supporting elected Councillors take forward high level decisions on the budget, policy, regeneration, planning, licensing, procurement and commissioning as well as taking decisions on residents’ care, housing, health and the environment.

About You
Our ideal candidate should possess excellent attention to detail and have experience in producing clear, concise minutes and be able to manage a demanding workload within our corporate deadlines. You will also need to have good IT skills and have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications as well as good understanding of video conferencing applications to manage virtual decision-making meetings and partnership bodies. You will also need to provide advice at public meetings on the Constitution and gain the confidence of the Chair and meeting attendees.

About the Role
We are looking for a competent Committee administrator to work in the Committees Team to support the Council’s decision-making committees and partnership bodies. The daily routine of the role will entail compiling committee agenda’s, producing clear and concise minutes, and providing timely advice on the requirements of the Council Constitution which sets out how decisions are made and the procedures, which are followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people.
In this role, you will be working as part of a small close-knit team, at the heart of the Council, with the Committees’ Manager on new projects that support meeting our statutory requirements. This will also mean having a good understanding of MS Teams to facilitate public watching the meeting and external participants joining the meeting. You will need to be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and IT skills
