Our local government client is recruiting a Support Worker, a role that is crucial and integral to our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide service users with high-quality, individualised, outcome-focused care and support, making a significant difference in their lives.
Responsibility
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred care and support for service users. This role is not just about responsibilities but also the deep sense of reward and fulfilment it brings. Your tasks will include personal care, maximising physical and mental well-being, personal safety, participating in the local community, household living skills, and money management, always promoting positive participation and inclusion.
Qualification – Essential

GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

NVQ 2 or willing to work towards a Diploma in Health and Social Care

Intermediate –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.
Essential - Skills, Abilities, & Experience

Knowledge and awareness of the needs of the specific client group.

Knowledge of practice issues relating to the specialist area of service.

Awareness of health and safety requirements, including guidance for lone-working.

Knowledge of benefits and entitlements system.

Sufficient numeracy and literacy to complete handovers, write simple reports and log incidents.

Intermediate IT skills to update records on the organisational database.

Demonstrating a person-centred approach when working with individuals and groups.

Able to work in partnership with residents and other professionals.

Able to make effective crisis management interventions.

Able to work flexibly in line with the scheme staffing and rota requirements.

Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Able to devise assessment and care planning.
