InstaStaff are currently recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Lead Engagement Manager to join a privately owned company within the Birmingham area, this role will be on an 8-month fixed-term basis.
As the Lead Engagement Manager will need to take a proactive role in developing and implementing a communications and engagement strategy for our client as they strengthen their role and influence in a changing industry environment.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the business to navigate a broad political and technical landscape and driving effective communication across multiple stakeholders. You will do this by supporting the leadership team with timely advice, the creation and dissemination of communication materials and have a proactive approach to fostering strategic relationships.
The ideal Lead Engagement Manager will have knowledge of the economic and business landscape of the West Midlands, as the role will be raising the visibility of the business, especially important will be to raise interest from the housing and higher education sectors.
This role requires a proactive and hands-on individual who can operate at both strategic and operational levels, ensuring seamless engagement and communication across the business.
This is a hybrid role, but most of the activity will be West Midlands based.
The duties of the Lead Engagement Manager will include:
Developing and implementing engagement strategies to effectively communicate with key stakeholders including councillors, train operating companies, the Mayor's Office, and the Department for Transport
Serving as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment of communication strategies and objectives
Crafting and executing communication plans that meet the needs of our stakeholders, supporting and enhancing the companies role
Leading the developing of messaging and content that supports the business objectives and enhances their reputation
Fostering relationships with communications staff in partner organisations
Coordinating or supporting joint initiatives and ensure consistent messaging and collaboration across different platforms and audiences
Working closely with the companies leadership team to ensure internal messages are aligned with external communications and strategic goals
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, adjusting as necessary to improve outcomes
The ideal Lead Engagement Manager will have:
Proven experience in a senior communications role, with a focus on stakeholder engagement in a complex political or technical environment.
Ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans that drive engagement.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Experience working with or within government, transport, or related sectors is highly desirable.
Good understanding of the West Midlands region and the ambitions of the Mayor of the West Midlands.
Familiarity with the structures and functions of local and regional authorities is an advantage.
The hourly day rate for the Lead Engagement Manager role will be £650 per day, and it will be 5 days per week.
Duration of the Lead Engagement Manager role will Initially be until 30th April 2025
