Job Title: Food Service Assistant
Location: Clydebank Campus, West College
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 1 month - Term Time
Pay Rate: £12.81 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 2.45pm with 30 minute unpaid lunch break and Friday, 8am to 1.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
We will require the candidate to have a PVG check (working with Children) in place before starting work with WCS

Job Description:
To undertake a range of catering tasks with limited supervision by the Catering Co-ordinator; to ensure the Health and Safety at Work Act and Food Safety Legislation are adhered to; to assist in food preparation, finishing of food, transporting of food and service of food whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness; operating a point of sale and stock management system; to serve customers and to hold responsibility for cash handling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Good understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act and Food Safety Legislation. Willingness to undertake training as directed.
Experience of working in a catering service.
Experience of working within a team.
Experience of safe working practices.
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to work to deadlines.
Working practices comply with current legislation and protect the organisation from a legal perspective. E.g. ability to deal appropriately with visits from external organisations such as Environmental Health.
Ability to inform the product offering going forward.
Good preparation and presentation skills.
Ability to carry out manual handling duties.
Operation of cash register.
Responsibility for cash on campus. Including cash handling, the security of the cash and the banking.
Stock monitoring and recording.
Basic IT skills to support operation of point of sale and stock inventory system.
Ability to provide information to other college departments.
Good customer liaison skills.
Good communication skills.
Flexible approach to working.
Effective customer service skills.
Good communicator both verbally and written.
Able to meet physical and mental demands of working in busy catering service.
Ability to work flexible shift pattern if required.
Ability to work out of hours i.e. emergency response.
Willingness to work at other sites if operationally necessary.
