Our Team
The Economic Unit has recently been formed to bring rigor to cost-benefit analysis for investment projects, improving tracking of the project financials and providing an independent view on the confidence rating for each business case. The assessments carried out by the Economic Unit, enable the Chief Operating Officer and the Leadership Team of Virgin Money to make more informed decisions regarding which investment projects should be prioritised.
What you’ll be doing
Working with a variety of business areas & functions within Virgin Money, to effectively challenge and validate economic returns on Investment business cases.
Deep diving into complex business cases to ensure the financials of the project stack up, prepare an Economic Unit review, and give a recommendation on the likelihood of success.
Month end reporting for the Investment portfolio and investigate variances to plan or forecasts. Engage with stakeholders to understand variances and what actions are being taken to bring the expenditure or benefits back in line with budget.
Working with the Finance Business Partner team in tracking benefit targets.
Supporting the preparation of annual budget and reforecasts through the year for Investments.
Building relationships with the project teams to develop a deeper knowledge of the projects being delivered and the key milestones which they plan to hit during the year.
Preparing reporting for CIO and Operating Committee on the Investment Portfolio.
Ad hoc analysis and reporting on the Investment Portfolio.
We need you to have
A strong track record of delivering results in a financial environment.
A proficient understanding and experience of the reviewing/preparing investment project financials.
Demonstrable knowledge of key market influences and associated risks within the financial industry.
Understanding of the key business drivers which influence financial performance.
Strong writing, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of up-to-date financial models and tools.
Post graduate professional qualification in finance, business administration or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
Previous experience and knowledge of the Financial Services sector.
