As a Senior Graphic Designer at HMRC, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our reputation through creative, effective communication. Your expertise in design and animation will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, customer-focused materials across multiple channels, that builds on the HMRC branding.
In this position, you'll lead specific areas of work or specialisms, contributing to both HMRC's objectives and cross-government campaigns. Collaborating with others in the team you'll help establish Creative Services as a centre of excellence, supporting other designers in concept development and project management. Your innovative solutions and fast-paced delivery will make a tangible, measurable difference to our communication efforts.
Person specification
We're seeking a talented and experienced Senior Graphic Designer with experience in motion graphics and animation who can bring creativity and versatility to our team. Our ideal candidate will have the skills to lead projects, manage client relationships, and contribute to our reputation as a centre of excellence in design.
Essential Criteria
A degree or diploma in Graphic Design or equivalent academic or professional experience.
Expert use of the following computer software: Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly, Acrobat, and MS Office based applications.
Additional for motion graphic specialist: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Adobe Character Animator.
Experience of designing online and offline campaigns, mobile apps, websites, branding and identities, interactive media, animation, corporate reporting, and toolkits.
Working knowledge of designing for print and digital, including sustainability.
Working knowledge of accessibility principles and guidelines.
Understanding of brand and research techniques for evidence- and context-based design.
Excellent level of commercial awareness.
Adept at client management with good verbal and written communication skills and experience of leading presentations and focus groups.
Willing to undertake communications professional body membership and qualification once in post (if not already held).
