We are currently seeking a proactive HR Advisor to join our client based in Wickford, Essex, for a ten-month maternity cover. You will be the sole person managing all HR related responsibilities with support from the Finance Director and CEO. As a HR Advisor in a small business, you will need to be comfortable with spinning lots of moving plates, no two days will be the same and you need to be confident in communication and working towards deadlines.
Day to Day your duties will include:
Recruitment

Create and manage online advertising optimising direct hires over using agencies where possible. Liaise with preferred suppliers for recruitment.

Negotiate fees of agencies, if required

Shortlisting candidate via telephone screening

Organizing interviews around managers' diaries

Updating the recruitment tracker and notifying management of recruitment progress.

Tracking the recruitment budget and ensuring this is not exceeded.

Onboarding -Preparing offer letters, induction packs and contracts

Using signable to limit paper use.

Working with the planning team and supervisors to organise employee induction plans.

Ensuring new starters are compliant and have all the correct right to work checks. Obtaining references

Managing the onboarding processes from offer to start date, ensuring all requirements are met from senior staff members such as ordering of equipment, uniform and any training required.
Staff Engagement
Updating employees bi-annually of the events calendar.
Hosting charity days such as coffee mornings.
Email communication regarding memorable dates such as mental health awareness week.
Organising Summer and Christmas party, including venue hire, entertainment and hotel booking for field employees.
Ordering and distribution of gift cards to field employees.
Employee Relations
• Investigation, disciplinary and dismissal communication
• Sources evidence for cases
• Liaise with our legal team and/or ACAS to ensure best practice.
• Hosting investigation meetings and disciplinary hearings.
• Minute taking and write ups.
• Maintaining the HR Database including raising any extensive unplanned absences.
Training
• Work with the Health and Safety Advisor to source training providers.
• Book training for employees
Miscellaneous
• Ensure all employees personal information is kept confidential and up to date on Citation/Atlas
• Ensure compliance with employment laws.
• Supporting the administration of annual pay reviews, employee surveys and HR statistics.
• Maintaining employee benefits administration.
• Creating and maintaining all employee personnel files, ensuring archiving of leavers and cleansing of information held in line with the Data Protection Act (GDPR).
• Processing leavers and calculating final pay.
• Processing all paperwork associated with employment changes and variations to contracts.
A full handover will be given by the current HR advisor prior to her leaving for maternity leave.
Salary £33k pro rata. Full time office based, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
