Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HGV PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Technician to join their team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for performing thorough inspections and ensuring that all Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance before delivery to customers. As a key part of the operations team, you will play a vital role in upholding our client's reputation for excellence in vehicle preparation and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HGV maintenance and inspection, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. You will be responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, and correcting any issues with vehicles before they leave the facility, ensuring they are roadworthy and meet all regulatory requirements. This role demands a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Your responsibilities as a HGV PDI Technician include:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) to ensure they meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards before delivery to customers.
- Utilise diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in HGVs.
- Perform necessary adjustments, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure vehicles are fully operational and meet the client's specifications.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork, including inspection reports, repair logs, and quality checklists, ensuring that all records are up to date and compliant with company and legal standards.
- Collaborate with the workshop team, service advisors, and management to communicate any issues identified during inspections and recommend appropriate solutions.
The requirements as a HGV PDI Technician include:
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification is preferred. A strong technical background in HGVs is essential.
- Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of PDI processes and HGV systems.
- Meticulous in conducting inspections, completing documentation, and ensuring that all vehicles meet the highest standards before delivery.
- The role requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and working in various positions. Candidates should be physically fit to meet these demands.
Shift Times:
10:00pm - 06:00am / Tuesday - Friday (Rotating)
PAY RATES:
16.50 - 21.50 per hour
Start Dates / Induction Process:
Immediate Starts, you will complete an induction on your first day. This will include training on company processes and health and safety on site.
