An exciting Opportunity have arisen for a meticulous and ambitious professional to implement their experience as a Technical Compliance Manager for our client who is a market leading bakery and food company. This role is full-time permanent, based in Dunstable - Bedfordshire
As a Technical Compliance Manager you will play a key role in ensuring that all aspects of the production processes, operations, and products adhere to UK and EU food safety regulations and standards. This position involves the development and maintenance of all policies and procedures that form the Quality Management System, you will also manage internal audits, facilitating regulatory inspections, and leading compliance initiatives to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.
In addition you will also drive continuous improvement by advising site Operations and Engineering teams in technical matters, identify issues, problem solve and ensure root cause is identified and corrective and preventative actions are taken.
Key responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and ownership for the Quality & Food Safety management systems associated with the production of food to the agreed safety, legal and quality standards. Where necessary, generate and implement new procedures.
· Ensure that the systems and records are audit ready and comply with customer and 3rd party audit standards.
· To lead and fully understand the site HACCP and be involved in the evaluation of risk and defining controls, prior to the introduction of a new process, product, or raw material. To ensure that the requirements of HACCP are implemented, maintained, and achieved.
· To lead customer & 3rd party audits.
· Keep up-to-date with changes in food safety legislation and update company policies as necessary.
· Act as the main point of contact with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
· Ensure that all non-conformances arising from customer and 3rd party audits are verified and closed.
· Create and maintain all technical schedules and report discrepancies.
· Updating and issuing weekly/monthly reports.
· To provide holiday cover for Factory Technical Managers.
· Develop and deliver training programmes on food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality control procedures for all staff.
· Ensure all employees understand and follow the company's food safety and compliance policies.
· Identify and assess potential compliance risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
· Lead investigations into compliance breaches and implement corrective and preventive measures.
Previous Experience/Skills & Knowledge:
· Must have previous experience within a similar Compliance management role in food manufacturing or food retailer.
· Previous responsibility for hygiene and pest control.
· Extensive practical experience of HACCP.
· Understanding of external standards including BRC, IFS & retailers code of practice.
· Knowledge of food legislation.
· A passion for delivering results and the drive to exceed expectations.
· Strong planning and organisational skills.
· Ability to be flexible to meet business needs.
· High attention to detail.

· Computer Literate in all Microsoft packages.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
The working hours for this position is Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday, 09:00 - 18:00 - flexibility is offered
The Salary for this position is up to £58,000 plus benefits such as performance related Bonuses, Holiday and Pension.
