Health, Safety and Quality Lead - Manufacturing
Job Purpose
To lead and implement a robust health, safety, and quality management system within a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. This role will be instrumental in creating a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, driving operational excellence and minimising risk.
Key Responsibilities

Review, manage and maintain a comprehensive health, safety, and quality management system aligned with industry best practices and legal requirements.

Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and quality inspections to identify potential hazards and non-conformances.

Develop and deliver targeted health, safety, and quality training programs for employees at all levels.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues, conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor and report on health, safety, and quality performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

Collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to identify and implement process improvements.

Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Manage quality assurance processes, including supplier quality, product inspection, and testing.

Lead the organisation in achieving and maintaining relevant quality certifications.

Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and customers.

Promote a positive health, safety, and quality culture throughout the organisation.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria

Proven experience in a health, safety, and quality leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

Relevant qualifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma) and quality management (e.g., ISO 9001).

Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and manufacturing industry standards.

Experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems in a manufacturing context.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Criteria
