The Home Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the assessment / residential service, including the staff, budgets and resources to ensure that the highest possible standards of care and support are delivered and appropriately evidenced.

To be the Ofsted Registered Manager and hold legal responsibility and accountability for the service

To act as the senior professional person within the staff team

To ensure that the care and support provided to the family is of the highest quality and that all needs are met, to support the family in achieving their full potential

To take the lead in ensuring that all vulnerable adults, children and young people are safeguarded
-
To ensure that key stages during a placement e.g. admission and discharge, are properly managed and recorded

To take the lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of placement plans

To be responsible for undertaking and reviewing required risk assessments

To ensure detailed and accurate records are kept on the family files, and that they are distributed to interested parties as appropriate

To oversee the recording and report writing of staff, and ensure that they are of an acceptable standard

To take a lead role in any assessments that may be required

To attend court and give evidence where required

To work closely with members of the Therapeutic Team to ensure that where necessary, families receive the correct and appropriate support
