Lucas Systems – an established (26-year-old) provider of warehouse optimization software - is looking to drive hypergrowth in the UK & Europe over the next several years. To that end, we have built a super-charged inbound/outbound lead generation and business development function – we need a hungry Business Development Representative to come aboard and help drive it!
The primary responsibility for this key role is outbound sales prospecting using email, phone and social media. The right individual will learn our business and develop their sales skills by working with a team of seasoned solutions and sales executives. Successful Business Development Representatives have the opportunity for advancement into Business Development Executive or Account Manager roles.
Things you will do:

As a Business Development Representative, you will be committed to engaging and listening closely to prospective leads to understand how Lucas can solve their warehouse execution challenges.

Identify and target highly qualified leads using tools like LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, etc.

Collaborate with marketing to develop prospecting campaigns based on target verticals identified by sales and marketing leadership.

Prospect highly qualified leads via phone, email, and LinkedIn with a goal of conducting quick discovery, qualification and establishing a broader meeting with a Lucas Business Development Executive.

Follow up on leads from marketing activities, including trade shows, web inquiries, etc. with a goal of conducting quick discovery, qualification and establishing a broader meeting with a Lucas Business Development Executive.

Nurture target prospects through the sales funnel using CRM and marketing automation tools.

Work with sales and marketing to nurture selected opportunities through the sales pipeline.

Participate in select sales calls to add value and grow your knowledge of the business.

Attend trade shows and other industry events (2-3 per year).
Prior sales experience is helpful – but not necessary. The 3 key ‘pre-requisites’ are:

You should also possess:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

NOTE – This role is located in our Bracknell office with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office / 2 days at home)
