Job Description:
As a Class 2 Tramper you will play a vital role in our logistics and transportation team. We are looking for a highly responsible and self-motivated individual for our client, capable of managing long-haul journeys that include overnight stays in the vehicle. Your primary duty will be to deliver goods to various locations across the region, ensuring each delivery is made on time and in a safe and secure manner.
This position requires more than just driving skills; it demands strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage your schedule efficiently. You will navigate a variety of routes, often encountering diverse weather conditions, which will require quick thinking and adaptability. Given the nature of this role, you will spend several nights a week away from home, staying in your vehicle, with some routes extending over multiple days.
Beyond driving, you will be the face of our client during deliveries, interacting with their customers to ensure their needs are met and that every delivery aligns with their expectations. You will also be responsible for performing daily checks and minor maintenance on your vehicle, ensuring it is always in optimal condition for the road. Strict adherence to transport laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies is critical in this role.
Your responsibilities as a HGV Class 2 Tramper include:
- Operate a Class 2 vehicle to transport goods efficiently and safely to designated locations across the region and potentially nationwide.
- Be prepared for overnight stays in your vehicle during the working week, ensuring all necessary supplies and accommodations are in place.
- Conduct daily checks and routine maintenance of the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy, clean, and in compliance with company standards.
- Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, driving regulations, and company policies, including those related to health and safety, tachographs, and working hours.
- Accurately complete and manage delivery paperwork, logbooks, and any other required documentation.
The requirements as a HGV Class 2 Tramper include:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence: Essential for this role.
- Driver CPC Qualification: Must have a current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Class 2 driver, particularly in tramping or long-haul roles, is highly desirable.
- Flexibility: Willingness to be away from home for multiple nights each week.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical demands, including loading and unloading goods as required.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and the team.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in following delivery instructions and maintaining accurate records.

07:00 - 16:30 (47.50 hours per week)

PAY RATES:
£14.52 per hour
£25.00 per night bonus
