Men's Football 2nd Team Head Coach
Location: Trafford, Manchester
Salary: £25,000 pro rata (equiv. to £2500)
Hours: Friday 7.45-9pm at Stretford & Wednesday afternoon/evenings depending on fixtures
Contract length: September - April

Our client is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Men's Football 2nd Team Coach to lead their team following their promotion to British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Northern Tier 6. From September to April, you will be instrumental in driving standards and developing players while fostering a positive and committed club atmosphere.
The Role
They are looking for a coach who can deliver an engaging and effective coaching programme, support player development, and build a strong, inclusive club culture. You will work closely with the Sport92 team and the student-led committee to enhance the men's football club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching & Development: Plan and deliver football coaching sessions every Friday evening from 7.30-9pm at Stretford High School 3G pitches (TBC).
- Match Day Leadership: Lead all home and away fixtures on Wednesday afternoons (home matches in Stretford; away matches across the North West).
- One Club Approach: Work alongside 1st and 3rd team coaches to share resources, support talent ID and recruitment, and monitor player development.
- Team Management: Collaborate with the team captain on squad management, match day preparation, and team selection, to establish a performance culture.
- Regulation Compliance: Ensure adherence to all BUCS regulations, including player registration and match rules.
- Player Support: Provide feedback and development for club members, support Strength & Conditioning (S&C), and analysis sessions as needed.
- Recruitment & Retention: Support the recruitment and retention of club members through welcome activities, trials and events.
- Talent Development: Collaborate on identifying and developing potential Sport92 talented athletes and TASS Dual Career players.
- Partnerships: Assist in developing sponsorship and commercial partnerships as required.
- Professional Growth: Commit to continuous professional development to enhance coaching skills and knowledge, whilst supporting student coach and football workforce development
- Club Development: Work alongside the Football and Futsal Development Officer and/or club committee to support the overall development of the club.
- Advocacy: Act as an advocate for UA92 and actively promote its football programmes both internally and externally.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility for which you have the necessary experience and/or training.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum UEFA B Coaching qualification.
- Up-to-date First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications.
- Experience within higher education and/or understanding of men's football pyramid is desirable.
