Credit Control Administrator

Location: Sheffield, hybrid 3 days a week
35 hours p/w, permanent
Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 + bonus based on performance

Role overview:
Purpose of the role is to chase the outstanding payments for your assigned business area. Become the main administrator for the fresh desk for credit control across all subsidiaries. To work closely with other members of the transactional finance team in Billings, Accounts payable and Banking
Key Responsibilities:
Chasing overdue invoices via phone and email for the Institute finance ledger
Ensure overdue debt is kept within agreed objectives and debt reduction targets set.
Taking ownership of the ledger and customers with outstanding overdue balances, building strong relationships both internally and externally to achieve targets.
Administrative duties for fresh desk in AR ensuring all incoming tickets are assigned correctly and responses and resolutions are achieved in line with agreed SLA’s.
Resolving customer queries promptly to resolution including investigations and raising cases working closely with other members of the finance team to resolve customers issues taking ownership to ensure all customers queries are satisfactorily resolved.
Maintaining accurate notes on customer account, key responsibility being any communication is accurately recorded.
Issuing LBA’s and working with 3 party collection agency on overdue invoices, taking ownership of this process and maintaining communications with external parties and keeping accurate notes on the customer’s account.
Proactive communications on new invoices to ensure we have accurate contact information and the customer is aware of the payment terms.
Ensure housekeeping is updated on all contact information and investigations are done on all failed emails.
Any other finance duties as required with the transactional finance team
What will you need to succeed?
Experience
Customer service or credit control experience ideally within the education industry
Experience of working as part of a larger team with a part to play
Experienced with using Netsuites would be an advantage
Experienced with excel spreadsheets
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar role
Experience of working towards set targets and KPI’s
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
Experience of working with a fresh desk or similar
Knowledge
Knowledge of basic credit control processes and customer risk assessment of credit scoring
Skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to be highly organised able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
Confident in dealing with complex customer account queries able to demonstrate experience in bring them to successful resolution.
Able to work independently as well as part of a larger team
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to work with multiple customer accounts
