The role
This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.
There is a Fixed term contract role available to help start a key project for our Service Development team. You will be undertaking survey work within our customer homes, to determine customer need, mobility, wellbeing and any home support needs. You will link with internal teams to ensure the property is fit for purpose.
What you'll achieve
You will undertake visits to customers homes across a defined portfolio of properties, predominately over 55year olds accommodation (national travel – car allowance available). The aim is to complete a customer risk assessment to determine how they are coping within their home. You will flag any health and safety concerns, raise safeguarding risks and work with wider teams to ensure homes are fit for purpose.
Responsible for health and safety of schemes ensuring risks are identified and recorded. Any urgent assessments are raised with the manager for implementation.
Responsible for informing Property Managers and Tenancy Triage colleagues in resolving day to day scheme issues related to tenancy management
Ensure that all personal surveys are completed within target time with the relevant information to the required level; actively seek value for money in all elements of work and service delivery
Maximise referrals and take up of Orbit’s in house and commissioned services and grants (Better Days).
Maintain and update records of advice given in order to prepare statistics and reports, demonstrating outcomes. Maintain external partnerships with both voluntary and statutory support agencies to make appropriate referrals.
Ensure that policies and processes are adhered to, with particular emphasis on safeguarding adults.

Experience of providing a housing management service and of managing tenancies as well as licences; ideally also experience of working with managing agents.
Organisation skills with ability to work on own work with minimum supervision and ability to work as part of a team.
