What you'll be doing;
To produce accurate monthly management accounts for business units / contracts within the
role-holder's remit and reporting results to senior regional / divisional operational and finance staff.
Preparing forecasts/budgets in liaison with operations Managers, supporting/advising as required.
Ensuring all contracts within the remit are complying with company finance procedures and policies.
Overseeing the performance of general finance duties e.g. invoicing, monitoring systems, and
Accounting.
Commercial involvement in all financial aspects / plans of the respective business and liaison with
external / internal customers.
Produces monthly accounts for cost centres/ activities within the role-holder's remit, reporting figures to demonstrate the performance of the company against budget
Analysis of accounts to identify trends and opportunities for additional income or more effective cost control, thereby maximising profit, and advising operational Managers accordingly
Ensuring stocks (e.g. fuel, PPE - Personal Protective Equipment) and assets (e.g. fleet, IT equipment) are correctly accounted, enabling cost control by management
Ensuring adequate checks on payroll, to ensure there are no under- or over-payments
Assist and have involvement in the commercial viability for all new contracts / new business
Working with the Regional Finance team, ensures all required information is reported on (e.g. budgets, CAPEX figures)
Working with operational management - provides advice and guidance on all financial matters e.g. costs, performance against budget/forecasts, invoicing, weighbridge reconciliations etc
Provides advice and guidance to depot Administrators on finance matters when assistance is required, auditing from time to time to ensure compliance with policies/procedures. Advice/training on new procedures e.g. the three-way matching process
Ensuring that all contracts within the remit are complying with company procedures e.g. that all expenditure is recorded via the purchase order process, invoices are properly managed. Querying any failures in process and taking corrective action
Responsible for monitoring all aspects of financial management within operational activities including all systems utilised within respective area of business
Implements any new group Finance policies and procedures.
Controls spending, planning and budgeting within the remit of their role
What we're looking for;
Qualification with a recognised UK accounting body e.g ACA, ACCA, CIMA
Experience with some form of financial system e.g. SAP, SAGE, Workday
Multi-site account management
Business Partnering
