RM Recruit is pleased to partner with a reputable organisation in Nottingham, seeking a confident and articulate Finance Officer for a full-time, permanent position. The role offers flexible, hybrid working arrangements, with three days in the office and two days from home.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the credit control and purchase ledger functions.
Responsibilities include:

Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances, reducing overdue debt, and maintaining accurate records of communications.

Process supplier invoices, matching them to purchase orders, and ensure all payments are authorised and made within agreed terms.

Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

Assist in month-end closing activities, including the preparation of reports and reconciliations.

Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve any queries or issues.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Assist with the weekly bacs runs

Assist with quarterly VAT returns for review

Prepare bank reconciliations
The ideal candidate will be AAT part-qualified or possess equivalent experience, with a proven track record in a similar finance role. Experience with stakeholder reporting is highly advantageous, as this position requires clear and confident communication with various internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail, who can prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ability to take initiative and solve problems independently will be key to your success in this role.
