Job Description
The Head of Finance Projects and Programmes will report to the Head of Strategic Finance and be responsible for leading a team of Finance Business Partners.
Your duties will include:
- Partnering existing and emerging projects and programmes, including supporting the production of business cases and providing financial assurance and advice.
- Building strong relationships with Executive teams and Project Leads to influence and deliver value to the organisation.
- Maintaining a budgetary control environment and processes ensuring that control is exercised through focused and proportionate effort.
- Providing objective strategic and tactical financial advice and opinions that positively impact the future investment choices made.
- Working closely with the commercial teams to ensure value for money, financial accountability for contracts, supporting the production of investment appraisals and addressing governance issues.
- Providing leadership, direction and management of a small team.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Head of Finance Projects and Programmes will be a Qualified Accountant with excellent stakeholder management with a background within Public Sector finance. You should have knowledge of The Government Green Book Business cases and have provided financial management and planning in a complex organisation.
It is essential that you have staff management experience and can demonstrate a background of advising and guiding business decisions in order to ensure compliance, manage risk and support governance arrangements.

What's on Offer
A competitive salary of c. £68,000 to £75,000 plus excellent benefits.
