Exciting Opportunity for an SEMH Teacher in Lewisham!
GSL Education is searching for a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teacher to join our team in Lewisham starting in September 2024. This long-term contract role offers an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role: As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver personalised and engaging lessons to students, helping them achieve their full potential. You will play a vital role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment, working closely with other professionals to provide the best educational experience for your students.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet each student’s unique needs.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Manage and support students with challenging behaviour.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, parents, and other professionals to ensure optimal student outcomes.
Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
Experience working with children or young people in a SEN school setting is highly desirable.
Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student development.
A current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
