We are working with a leading construction company with a significant presence in Ireland. They are currently managing a large-scale residential development in West Dublin, consisting of 5500 units including apartments, houses, and duplexes. This project began in January 2023 and is expected to continue until the early 2030s. As they continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall QS Responsibility: Report directly to the Regional/Managing Quantity Surveyor and oversee all Quantity Surveying activities on-site.
Budget Preparation: Liaise with the internal cost planning team and external resources during the project budget preparation stage.
Cost Management: Manage and oversee cost management processes across the project, including the compilation and validation of cost reports, cash flows, and CRM documentation.
Risk Management: Identify, consider, and mitigate all known and potential risks. Foster a team environment that prioritizes early risk identification and management.
Commercial Reporting: Present the commercial pack to the Senior Management Team on a monthly basis.
Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement process, ensure scope accuracy, and manage subcontract packages and payments.
Value Management: Drive a value-seeking mindset throughout both the project QS and overall project team.
Continuous Development: Stay updated on modern construction methods and technologies, and promote continued CPD within the project QS team.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and the supply chain base.
Project QS Cycle: Ensure the timely completion of the monthly QS cycle on-site.
Team Management: Manage and develop the project QS team, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery.
Candidate Profile:
Experience: 7-10+ years of post-graduate experience in PQS or a contractor's office, preferably with house-building/residential experience managing multiple packages.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of modern construction methods and technologies.
Strong Project Management Capabilities.
Skill Set: Proficiency in IT (Cubitt, Cost-ex, Microsoft Office), strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
Mindset: Self-motivated, able to work on your initiative, and willing to take on overall project responsibility.
Location: Preference for candidates based in Ireland, though sponsorship is available. Open to diverse candidates, with a track record of inclusivity.

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
