gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our clients based in Westcliff-on-Sea for an experienced Deputy Manager for children’s registered service providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment designed to harness, develop and sustain the hopes, talents and aspirations of children.
Main Purpose of this role:
The Deputy Manager will support the Home Manager by modelling excellent practice, developing colleagues’ skills, and ensuring high-quality residential services for children and young people. This role includes safeguarding their well-being, supporting their development, and assuming leadership in the Manager’s absence.
Main Responsibilities
Supporting Children and Young People:
Safeguard and promote their welfare.
Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Support educational achievements and provide diverse activities.
Lead consultations with children, families, and professionals.
Ensure the home is Ofsted compliant.
Management and Leadership:
Ensure staff meet the individual needs of young people.
Clarify key worker roles and ensure effective practice.
Promote staff development and supervise Senior RSWs.
Manage employee relations and develop professional relationships.
Provide leadership, motivate employees, and ensure focus on objectives.
Other Requirements:
Provide out-of-hours support.
Adapt to the unpredictable nature of residential care.
Ensure Health and Safety for yourself and others. Assist in implementing policies.
