Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS is actively seeking a Trade Surveillance Officer on initial 3-month contract, and the role will be based in Manchester , London or Edinburgh. It is a hybrid model.
Purpose of the Role:
You'll play a vital role in undertaking market abuse related surveillance alert calibration reviews to improve existing market abuse surveillance scenarios and controls. You'll have the opportunity to develop your analytical skills, in this collaborative and fast-paced role.
As a Trade Surveillance Officer, you will be responsible for:
Assisting in providing in-depth analysis of alerting scenarios, including the use of market data, source system data, order, volume, and alerting data.
Pro-actively identifying potential or actual emerging risks and driving control enhancements to make sure that surveillance activities operate efficiently and provide appropriate risk mitigation.
Supporting the development and implementation of a calibration review surveillance programme of work that completes on time.
Keeping up to date with changing regulations, enforcement actions, regulatory guidance and policies and feed these into the overall calibration effort.What we require from the candidate:
Previous calibration experience.
The ability to delve into coding language is advantageous.
Analytical ability to apply data analysis into suggestions for alert scenario improvement.
The ability to apply a technical understanding to data to solve complex problems.
A familiarity with the Fixed Income and Currency products, regulations, electronic trading concepts and risks.
To be adaptable to changing market situations, technology, and business needs.
The ability to work with colleagues at all levels, with good listening and influencing skills.
The ability to work to tight deadlines.
This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
