Are you an experienced Recruiter seeking a dynamic new challenge?
We are on the lookout for a proactive and hands-on recruiter to join our team and spearhead the recruitment efforts for the launch of HMP Millsike, a brand new prison site opening in Spring 2025, located in Full Sutton.
HMP Millsike is the UKs first carbon neutral prison, not only setting new standards in sustainability but redefining the prison experience with a real focus on restoration and rehabiliation, providing prisoners with the opportunity to make meaningful and positive change.
In this role, you will manage the complete recruitment lifecycle for HMP Millsike, overseeing between 20-40 vacancies at any given time across the Skills, Education, and Work divisions. Your goal will be to fulfill a total headcount of approximately 120 by the end of the mobilisation phase.
As a key member of the project mobilisation team, you will play a crucial role in preparing HMP Millsike for its opening in Spring 2025. Your responsibilities will encompass recruitment planning, candidate attraction, assessment, and onboarding to ensure we consistently recruit top talent for PeoplePlus.
You will collaborate closely with the immediate People team and the wider project team to plan and execute recruitment activities in line with current and future needs. This will involve working directly with Hiring Managers at HMP Millsike to develop effective recruitment strategies and ensure alignment with our values through the use of comprehensive recruitment toolkits.
Please note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a prison clearance process as part of the role, ensuring compliance with all relevant security protocols and regulations.
This is a fixed term position until 18th November 2025.
Key Responsibilities:

Take full ownership of the recruitment process for the new contract, ensuring high standards of accountability and quality.

Actively contribute to project work streams to align recruitment activities with project timelines and requirements.

Prioritise quality and efficiency in filling vacancies, focusing on direct recruitment efforts.

Support and lead interviews, assessment centres, and initial phone screenings, presenting shortlisted candidates to hiring managers.

Develop and maintain engaged talent pools to accelerate hiring for critical roles.

Plan, attend, and manage recruitment events and exhibitions to build candidate relationships and enhance the PeoplePlus employer brand.
What We’re Looking For:

Proven track record in end-to-end recruitment, ideally inhouse and within a fast-paced environment.

Strong relationship-building skills with all stakeholders.

Expertise in sourcing candidates from a diverse range of channels.

Adaptability to shifting priorities.

Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for identifying risks and developing effective solutions.

Experience in recruiting for new project mobilisations is desirable, but not essential.
This role is remote with travel required to HMP Millsike during mobilisation and into business as usual to conduct interviews, recruitment events, and stakeholder engagement.
