Our client is a well-established carpentry subcontractor based in Hertfordshire, their portfolio includes residential and commercial. Due to continued growth, they're seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of their projects.
Responsibilities:

Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring that costs are accurately tracked and controlled.

Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress and prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and payment applications.

Manage all contractual aspects of projects, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution.

Assist in the preparation and submission of competitive tenders for new projects, including cost estimates and pricing strategies.

Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring the best value for the company.

Provide regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting any potential risks or opportunities.

Identify and mitigate potential financial and contractual risks associated with projects.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
Qualification:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, preferably within carpentry or joinery.

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

Thorough understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and project management principles.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
