Utilities Co-ordinator to work directly for a major Builder / Developer. Head office-based role near Edgware, working on large scale residential schemes. Permanent position involving construction site visits to work with Project and Site Managers looking at the practical side of the role.

Ensure contracts for gas and electric are up to date. Tender for new contracts, compare suppliers and negotiate with suppliers to reduce rates. For each active site, for the dormant sites, also Head Office and The Plant Yard.

Confirm MOP contracts also for the half hourly meters.

Organise telecommunication companies at the beginning of the project, provide all information required for their planning. Set up meetings and iron out detail ready for works on site.

Compare residential supplier quotes for the electric meter install in the plots. Agree on a contract with terms that suit the billing team and site team.

Organise and plan disconnections/service alternations for pre-existing supplies on sites that are going to be demolished or redeveloped.

Organise and plan installation of gas meters, electric meter, water meters and comms.

Apply for MPANs for new projects (often designer does it).

Deal with power cuts.

Liaise with MEP subcontractors regarding installation time frames and schedules.

Organise fitting of residential water meters, electric meter and the comms up the risers/in the apartments.

Chase companies regarding their works on site.

Ensure HIU’s are transmitting reads to BMS.

Manage billing enquires from the accounts team - chase the utility companies to correct them/provide more information/request refunds.

Process all quotes for extra works.

Ensure quotes and plans the MEP consultants provide are to spec and push them along when they are not meeting targets.

Main contact point between all utility companies and site.

Take readings for all meters as necessary across sites and submit to companies for accurate billing.

Keep an eye on consumption to ensure there are no areas where money is being unnecessarily wasted.

Hand over every account from the larger landlord supplies to the individual meters for each plot in all blocks. Ensure these have been processed to the correct date and read.

Ensure every detail on final invoices are correct.

Chase the consultants with their work when they are not meeting the company timeframes and take over where necessary.

Sewer connections as well as clean water connections/disconnections.

New electric connections, disconnections, upgrades and relocations.

Create documents containing the meter information for each plot. Checking all serial numbers for water meters, electric meter, HIUs and ONTs (Openreach).

Ensure invoices/reads for supplies the company are no longer responsible for but are in the company name and that the client pays back are up to date and correct.

Overseeing contracts and billing for the properties owned by the company that are not construction sites. 5 Properties, 10 supplies.

Handling any issues or queries raised by suppliers or client regarding historic sites.

Keep track of all utility work in a tracker document for site.
