Head of Mobile Engineering
Location: Remote with UK-wide travel
Salary: £80,000 (based on experience)
Requirements: Full UK clean driving license
About the Role: Due to our ongoing success and growth in Facilities Management (FM) services across the UK, We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Mobile Engineering. In this key role, you will lead the technical deployment of mobile mechanical, electrical, and fabric services across our diverse client portfolio, ensuring excellence in service delivery.Your expertise in leading mobile engineering teams within the FM sector will be critical as you oversee daily operations, collaborate with Area Supervisors and Mobile Engineers, and drive the continued development and expansion of our services. You’ll also play a pivotal role in the mobilisation of new contracts and support the pursuit of new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all services are compliant with statutory requirements and meet contractual commitments.
Monitor and manage first-fix times for engineers to identify training needs and performance improvements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for client queries and escalations.
Lead team recruitment, induction, development, and retention efforts.
Conduct monthly team meetings to keep all members engaged with Sodexo initiatives, best practices, and safety policies.
Maximize productivity and resource utilization, ensuring engineers use tablet technology to enhance efficiency and reporting.
Regularly audit work quality (PPM & Reactive) to maintain high standards.
Audit subcontractor services to ensure compliance, quality, and value for money.
About You: To be successful in this role, you should bring:
3-5 years of experience in delivering mobile engineering services across multiple client sites.
An engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
Strong knowledge of critical environment management and related processes.
Expertise in architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems.
A proven track record of exceptional customer service delivery.
Experience managing teams of Supervisors and Service Engineers for planned and preventative maintenance.
Solid understanding of hard services cost models and P&L responsibilities.
Strong financial and commercial acumen.
Ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships based on trust.
Excellent communication, influencing, and facilitation skills.
High standards in numeracy and written communication, especially in sales and bid copy.
Ongoing commitment to professional development.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
