Overview
Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Hygiene Manager on behalf of a dynamic and growing pet food business based in Suffolk. This is a unique opportunity to lead and manage the night shift hygiene team at a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and compliance, ensuring the site is always audit-ready and meets all regulatory requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Hygiene Manager

Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and motivate the night shift hygiene team, ensuring effective communication and structured planning.

Sanitation Oversight: Develop and implement strategic sanitation programs and policies that meet company standards and regulatory requirements.

Budget Management: Oversee the annual sanitation budget, including managing chemical supplies and inventory.

Safety Standards: Ensure a safe work environment through the proper implementation of health and safety programs, including training on chemical handling and equipment operation.

Audit Readiness: Lead the site’s efforts in maintaining audit readiness by managing hygiene documentation and ensuring all standards are consistently met.

Quality Assurance: Supervise post-cleaning inspections to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest quality and food safety standards.
Requirements for the Hygiene Manager

Experienced Leader: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-care chilled or frozen meat food hygiene management role with a proven track record of maintaining and improving hygiene standards.

Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of health and safety/food safety systems and legislation, with relevant qualifications (e.g., Food Safety and Hygiene Level 3, HACCP Level 3, COSHH Level 3).

Organized Communicator: Strong organizational skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, including Technical, Production, Engineering, and Quality
