We are seeking a proven Positive Behaviour Practitioner to lead, support and manage a developing PBS culture in a thriving Specialist Post-16 College. Working with a team of PBSP's as well as a growing team of PBM Pro Trainers, we are committed to the culture of a trauma informed positive behavior ethos.
You will be emotionally intelligent, person centered and proven in practice leadership. You will be able to evaluate and analyse data to demonstrate the impact your service has on preparing our young people for busy ands fulfilling adult lives.
You will have a presence to lead others, but be able to tune in with empathy and understanding for our students, team members who support them and of course parents and carers.

Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrating exceptional practice leadership practitioners will support the skills and knowledge development of support staff through training, modelling and guidance
Be responsible for own professional development, ensuring practice and knowledge underpins the trauma information positive behaviour culture in development
Attend Morning Meetings and play an active role in evaluating behavioural incidents, the response provided and where necessary evaluate trends and themes with a detailed behaviour analysis which informs revised PBS plans and person-centred staff training
Organise and manage PBS meetings and engage in as well as contribute to the vision for the college through well planned training, development, reflective proactive and continual improvement model
Lead, manage and contribute to: functional assessments, transition planning and support, service debriefs as required.
Ensure effective partnership working around the learner that supports PBS implementationwithin individual services and the wider group. Identifying any operational barriers and supportive solutions to overcome this.
Participate in effective team working and the development of productive working relationships. Ensure communication is effective, respectful, professional and clear, allowing you to communicate with the people you support as well as families, professionals, and our colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for the people we provide support to.
Lead on an annual review at student level, as well as site and whole college to make recommendations for next steps, and evaluate the effectiveness of the service in its support for learners
Complement and support a team of PBSPs and PBM Pro colleagues across all sites of the college
Develop and deliver awareness raising and practice leadership sessions to teams around the student to ensure high standards of professional practice at the learner interface
Support teams to have the knowledge, behaviours and skills to deliver high quality continuing education and development for the service users, ensure that it is well documented within support plans and being effectively delivered.
Work with communication, technology and physical therapists to ensure the access and communication requirements of each learner to ensure learners are heard, listened to and understood.
Demonstrate the ability to complete behaviour assessment tools and write reports relating to behaviour to a high standard
Hold a UK recognised formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support i.e., BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies, PBS Graduate Diploma
Experience and knowledge of working with people with a learning disability, autism and challenging behaviour
Significant experience in a practical and complex environment as a Positive Behaviour Practitioner
Understand legal frameworks relevant to the role, e.g., Children and Families Act, Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS, Reducing the Need for Restraint and Physical Intervention
Be aware of the context of CQC and Ofsted regulatory and inspection frameworks and PBS
Able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills
Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory requirements, legislative and compliance requirements
Excellent communicator, both verbally and written
Strong statistical ability to be able to translate and analyze complex data
Effective conflict and resolution management skills
Reliable and trustworthy; able to work on own initiative; able to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and professional persona
Be aware of own limitations. Be flexible and adaptable
Excellent IT skills and confident in using computer system
